About Mercy Showers
Showing Mercy. Restoring Hope. Changing Lives.
Putting Children First
Mercy Showers Trust, a trading name of Christianview Counselling Centre, is a faith-inspired, child-first organisation in Zimbabwe that translates compassion into practical, accountable action. Our work centres on the protection, care and psychosocial well-being of marginalised, vulnerable and disadvantaged children — combining Christian counselling, talent development, mentorship, education support in cases of extreme need, referral services and research into one integrated, child-centred programme.
At the heart of everything we do is a simple conviction: every child matters. Children who are orphaned, poor, out of school, or at risk deserve safety, nourishment, education, healthcare, and love. Through practical compassion, we help them heal, learn, and thrive.
Guided by Christian values of mercy, love, and service, we walk alongside families, churches, schools, and communities to build child-safe, sustainable interventions that transform lives from one generation to the next.
Our Vision
A Zimbabwe in which every marginalised, vulnerable and disadvantaged child is safe, emotionally whole, educated, and free to grow into their God-given potential with dignity, hope and purpose.
Our Mission
To restore hope and transform the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged children through counselling and psychosocial care, talent identification and development, mentorship and career guidance, targeted education support, effective referral services and child-centred research.
Our Motto
“Compassion in Action, Hope for Tomorrow.”
Our Story
Mercy Showers Trust was born from a heart broken by the sight of children carrying burdens no child should bear — empty stomachs, empty classrooms, and futures placed at risk before they had truly begun.
Our founders, working through Christianview Counselling Centre, saw orphaned and vulnerable children falling through the cracks of poverty, and resolved to respond not with pity, but with practical, lasting compassion. What began as small acts of mercy grew into a child-first movement dedicated to restoring hope.
Today, Mercy Showers places children at the centre of every decision, every programme, and every partnership. We do not simply relieve need for a day — we invest in a child's whole life, so that mercy becomes a foundation strong enough to change a generation.
